The Skyline Extruder Spheronizer is a critical system in the pharmaceutical industry for producing uniform, spherical pellets essential for controlled-release and sustained-release drug formulations. The process begins by preparing a wet mass of the API and excipients, which is then extruded through a die to form cylindrical extrudates. These extrudates are cut into uniform segments and transferred to the spherometer, where they are rounded into spheres by a rapidly rotating disc inside a cylindrical chamber.
